The HIKO nose threadlift originates from Korea and has been regarded as a “lunch time nose job”. It is a non surgical procedure that is safe, minimally invasive and allows both men and women to achieve a sharper, lifted and more defined nose.
The HIKO nose threadlift uses threads that are placed in the nose to create a lifting effect that in turn improves the patient’s nose profile.
The threads used for the HIKO nose threadlift are made of PDO (Polydioxanone).
PDO threads are traditionally used for sutures (stitches) to close wounds in surgical operations and are absorbed by the body over time and have been proven to be safe.
The nose threads are inserted gently through a pinhole entry point at the tip of the nose and they lift the nose bridge and/or the nose tip accordingly.
The small anchoring points along the nose threads allow them to remain put when inserted.
Lifting Effect Explained:
Firstly, by inserting numerous nose threads during the HIKO nose threadlift, it would create a mechanical lifting effect. This is because there is now an additional scaffolding structure under the nose bridge and nose tip to create more height and definition. The more bricks you lay, the higher the wall.
Secondly, the HIKO nose threadlift has an added benefit of a biochemical lifting effect. PDO threads induce our body’s own natural collagen production along the path of the PDO nose thread fibers. This means that even after the threads have been absorbed by the body, the biochemical lifting effect from the HIKO nose threadlift is still ongoing, even though the mechanical lifting effect is no longer present. This in turn prolongs the result of the HIKO nose threadlift.
In comparison with nose fillers, the HIKO nose threadlift do not cause problems with migration, spreading or arterial occlusion, which are some of the risks associated with dermal fillers.
Results from the HIKO nose threadlift often last longer due to naturally induced collagen production that continue to improve the nose profile even after the threads have been absorbed by the body.
La Clinic offers all 3 types of threads from two leading international brands- Silhouette Soft from the USA and Ultra V from Korea. Our lead Aesthetic doctor, Dr Rachel Ho, has a wealth of experience using both the Silhouette Soft threads and Ultra V threads.
Dr Rachel Ho has trained under international surgeons, including the creator of Ultra V threads, Dr Kwon Han Jin from Seoul, Korea.
