High Intensity Focused Ultrasound (HIFU) is a regenerative face treatment for lifting and maintenance.
HIFU uses safe, effective and precisely directed ultrasound waves, to heat and stimulate collagen production of the underlying superficial and deep skin layers, as well as the Superficial Muscular Aponeurotic System (SMAS).
HIFU is currently the only non-invasive medical device that allows the deepest penetration of energy, targeting depths of 1.5mm, 3mm and 4.5mm, for skin lifting and tightening.
The treatment causes collagen fibres to thicken and shorten, giving you a long-term tightening and lifting effect.
At 1.5mm – Superficial Dermis Layer:
Focusing HIFU energy at this depth targets melanin in the skin and reduces pigmentation, resulting in brighter and more even skin tone.
At 3.0mm – Deep Dermis Layer:
Focusing HIFU energy at this depth targets skin tightening. The energy stimulates structural collagen production hence resulting in a tightening effect, improving fine lines and wrinkles.
At 4.5mm – Superficial Muscular Aponeurotic System (SMAS):
The SMAS layer is where plastic surgeons target during a traditional surgical facelift procedure, which means that stimulation and tightening of the SMAS layer results in a lifting effect of the treatment area.
