WHAT IS COOLSCULPTING?
CoolSculpting by Zeltiq is an FDA-cleared non-surgical body contouring and fat reduction treatment that uses controlled cooling to eliminate stubborn fat.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
Coolsculpting uses a non-invasive applicator to target and remove fat cells in localized areas on the body. The device is applied to the target area and its temperature will adjust appropriately to selectively target the fat cells in that area. The low temperature kills off the fat cells and the body works to break it down and excrete it accordingly.
The treated area will continue to decrease in size as the body excretes dead fat cells.
After the Coolsculpting treatment, our therapists will immediately optimize the lymphatic drainage of the treated area with trained massage techniques.
AREAS THAT CAN BE TREATED?
CoolSculpting applicators come in a variety of sizes, ranging from small to large. This enables the doctor to choose an appropriate applicator size for the area that is targeted.

WHAT IS BACK ACNE?
Also known as “Bacne”, body acne can present itself on the back, shoulders, chest and upper arms.
They can occur in the form of painful cystic pimples, pustules and even blackheads.
WHAT CAUSES BACNE?
Stress:
Although stress does not directly cause acne or bacne, it is a trigger factor because having your body in constant overdrive affects the adrenal glands (our body’s stress regulators) that in turn stimulate sebaceous glands to secrete more sebum (oil). Increased oil production increases the acne and bacne occurrences due to the clogging up of pores.
Perspiration:
Singapore’s hot and humid weather is particularly unforgiving as it encourages increased perspiration that in turn leads to clogged follicles and pores, often leading up to Bacne.
People who are physically active tend to be more prone to Bacne as well due to perspiration. Increased moisture on the body is a breeding ground for bacteria, which also increases the occurrence of Bacne.
Hormonal Imbalances:
Common in young adults and women with Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome, Bacne can be triggered by hormonal imbalances due to the body’s overly stimulated oil glands that result in excess sebum production.
